After being 15 points down in the final seven-and-a-half minutes of the game, the Portland Trail Blazers came back to win against the Phoenix Suns yesterday thanks to the clutch performance of their star player, Damian Lillard. The Blazers defeated the Suns 106-104 at the Talking Stick Resort Arena in Phoenix on Saturday, and Lillard was fantastic throughout the game for the visitors, finishing the game with 40 points, 10 rebounds, five assists, a steal, and was 13-of-27 from the field. The point guard was on fire throughout the game, especially during the closing moments of the game, as he came up clutch for Portland in the dying seconds to give them the win with little time remaining on the clock. As the clock ticked down in the fourth quarter, Lillard had possession of the ball near the half court line. He then proceeded to drive with the ball towards the basket, throwing it up and into the basket and score, leaving just 0.9 seconds remaining on the game clock.Portland's head coach Terry Stotts was very impressed with the point guard's performance, as he said to ESPN after the game: "Obviously, Damian was huge, showed his leadership, showed his talent. We overcame a horrendous shooting night for most of the night and found a way."

Lillard scored 19 of his 40 points in the fourth quarter of the game, helping the Blazers claw back from being 15 points down in the final seven-and-a-half minutes of the game. With eight minutes to go in the game, the point guard also flew in for an impressive slam as you can see in the video below.

It was a great performance by the Blazers star on the night, and it further emphasizes his point that he is one of the best point guards in the NBA today. Lillard even described it as one of his "more significant performances" of the season.

The Trail Blazers will play next when they host the Sacramento Kings on Tuesday night.
