In the main event of last night's (Sat. February 24, 2018) UFC Orlando Jeremy Stephens and Josh Emmett a firefight broke out between the two knockout artists.

Stephens has been on quite the win streak and Emmett was coming off of a great knockout victory over Ricardo Lamas. It all went down from the Amway Center in Orlando, Florida and started off as a great back-and-forth affair.

Emmett nearly finished the fight himself after connecting on a nice combination that dropped Stephens to the mat. Luckily for "Lil Heathen" he was able to recover and get back to his feet. Emmett got a little too overconfident, however.

He pointed back to the mat, indicating that Stephens would be returning there soon. Stephens went on to land a beautiful counter left hand that dropped Emmett.

"Lil Heathen" swarmed on Emmett with a barrage of elbows that rendered Emmett unconscious. Some controversy arose after the fight, however, as a slow motion replay showed Stephens may or may have not landed an illegal knee.

Some of the elbows also seemed to have landed on the back of Emmett's head. Regardless, Stephens was still announced as the winner and has likely propelled himself into title contention.

Here's what Stephens had to say about the controversy surrounding the finish (quotes via LowKickMMA):

“The referee, Dan Miragliotta, came in the back, he said, ‘This is the new unified rules, that if two hands are down, you can lift one hand up [and be able] to knee. That’s okay.’

"So if he’s on his knees and one hand is up, it’s okay to throw a knee. I’m not a dirty fighter. I never have been, my whole life. I saw an opportunity, I was looking for it.

“I saw exactly what he was going to do. I knew that he was rocked, he had two hands [on the ground], he lifted his hand up and I saw the moment and that’s when I threw the knee.

"I don’t think the knee even landed, it’s not what hurt him. There was a lot more damage followed up after that. He was even rocked before that.

"But he did lift his hands and I waited for that hand, and I tried to take advantage of that opportunity. It didn’t land, I missed, but those are the rules in this specific state. I’m not a dirty fighter.”
