In the weeks following the Philadelphia Eagles triumph over the New England Patriots in Super Bowl LII, a lot has been reported surrounding the future of Rob Gronkowski not just with the Patriots, but with the NFL as well.Gronkowski made it known to the world following the Patriots' Super Bowl loss to the Eagles that he was thinking about retiring from the NFL, potentially bringing his career in the league to an end after just eight seasons. If the tight end's NFL career is brought to an end this offseason, a move into the movie business or a switch to wrestling in the WWE have been discussed as possible future career plans for the 28-year-old.However, since the Super Bowl, Gronkowski is yet to comment further on his career with the Patriots, but he has recently sent out a rather cryptic tweet about his future on his own Twitter account. Gronk said in the tweet: "Forseee your own future, control your own temptations, and your destiny will be not just be reached, it will just be starting."

So it seems Gronkowski is hinting about taking his future into his own hands and doing what’s best for himself and not giving in to temptation. It's unclear if the temptation is the NFL or a career switch into the movie business or the WWE.

One of the main reasons why he might be considering stepping away from the NFL and taking on a new career is because of the number of injuries he's had over the years which have required back, ankle, forearm, and ACL/MCL surgeries.

The Patriots tight end still has two years left on his six-year, $54 million extension with $19 million left in both base salary and bonuses, keeping him with the franchise until the end of the 2019 season. He's still in fantastic form for New England as well.

Last season, Gronkowski had 69 receptions for 1,084 receiving yards and eight touchdowns. His performances on the field during the 2017 season earned him a Pro Bowl selection as well as a First-team All-Pro selection.

His production on the field certainly doesn't appear to be dropping anytime soon, but this cryptic tweet could indicate that Gronk is unsure if he'll ever grace the gridiron again for another snap.
