Gennaro Gattuso's AC Milan continued their excellent run of form with a hugely impressive 2-0 win over Roma at the Stadio Olimpico on Sunday night. The Italian giants had a dismal start to the season under Vincenzo Montella but have climbed up to 7th during an unbeaten start to 2018.Gattuso spent 13 years as an AC Milan midfielder and was appointed coach of A.C. Milan Primavera, the under-19 team of the club in May 2017.Six months later he was in charge of the senior team - and things couldn't be going much better."The greatest satisfaction is to see the mentality and the reaction of the team," said the 40-year-old Italian coach after the 2-0 victory over Roma."There are people who sacrificed themselves and struggled, they suffered because the way they worked was different."The first month [together] was difficult, but the guys always listened to me in everything and now we do not lose for 12 games.''Gattuso was famously very aggressive as a player and that attribute remains a core quality of his in management too.

What happened between Gattuso and Kolarov

Fellow footballing hardman Aleksandar Kolarov joined Roma from Manchester City last summer - and was involved in a strange touchline incident during the shock 2-0 defeat.

Gattuso, who has a reputation similar to that of Roy Keane, could be seen harassing Kolarov as he attempted to take a throw-in during the first half.

According to Italian media outlet Calciomercato, Gattuso bluntly told the Serbian wing-back: “I’ll kick your ass, move on”.

The referee intervened after Kolarov complained about Gattuso's behaviour.

Never change, Gennaro.

Fans on Twitter were absolutely loving his touchline antics.

At the half-time whistle, Gattuso and Kolarov shared a warm embrace on the pitch in a great show of sportsmanship.

AC Milan are set to face Arsenal in the Europa League and the Rossoneri will surely fancy their chances against Arsene Wenger's side.
