Arsenal's performance on Sunday in the Carabao Cup Final was nothing short of embarrassing.

Arsene Wenger's men went into the game as underdogs against Premier League leaders Manchester City, but they put in a toothless performance that saw them comprehensively beaten 3-0.

Although many expected them to lose, the manner of their loss has not gone down with pundits and Arsenal fans alike, with some even going as far as saying their performance was embarrassing.

That was a view adopted by Gary Neville, who tore into Arsenal during commentary, and was also critical of them after the game.

"I have to say, they're walkers, they maybe lacked confidence and the belief to beat Man City, but I called it pathetic," Neville told Sky Sports.

"That might be too strong - I called it a disgrace, I think that is not based on a single performance, it's based on two or three years now, watching these players do the same things and losing in the same way.

"I'm finding it difficult to take because it's a wonderful football club with a great history and tradition, but at the moment they're in decline in terms of their performance levels and their standards."

JACK WILSHERE'S INSTAGRAM POST

Arsenal were comprehensively beaten on Sunday, but Jack Wilshere has now made a sensational post on Instagram where he addresses proceedings in the game.

And even though they lost 3-0, Wilshere went as far as saying that refereeing decisions paid a major part in their defeat, naming three instances in which he believes Arsenal were wronged.

Wilshere wrote: "What ever you say about the first goal, its a foul. The second goal is offside. There should have been a second yellow in the first half. Yes this happens in football but its still hard to accept. And people will say we are looking for excuses but these are facts."

Wow. Given the nature of the loss, to complain about refereeing decisions is very strange.
