Winger Jimmy Phillips and on-loan striker Steve Kabba are doubts for Burton ahead of the visit of relegation-threatened Grimsby.

Phillips is nursing a knock he suffered in training this week while Kabba has had an injection because of tendonitis in a knee.

With Artur Krysiak (ankle) still out, 46-year-old Kevin Poole will finish the season in goal.

Midfielder Jacques Maghoma is recovering from knee surgery while striker Richard Walker has yet to shake off a calf problem.

Aaron Webster, Greg Pearson, Andrew Corbett, Shaun Kelly and Keith Gilroy are available for recalls should boss Paul Peschisolido wish to make changes to his starting line-up.

Youngsters Kevin Grocott and James Knowles are likely to be included on the substitutes bench once more.

Grimsby have slight doubts over the fitness of on-loan midfielder Dean Sinclair and striker Jean-Louis Akpa Akpro.

Sinclair received treatment for a hamstring injury at parent club Charlton prior to the crucial home victory over Barnet last weekend but he was forced off just before the hour mark.

He has resumed full training and will be monitored ahead of the trip to the Pirelli Stadium.

Akpa Akpro was also a doubt to face Barnet with a thigh problem but he came through that game. However, he suffered some effects and was unable to train until Thursday.

In order to preserve their Football League status, Grimsby must win and hope Barnet fail to beat already-promoted Rochdale.
