Morecambe boss Sammy McIlroy is sweating over the fitness of top scorer Phil Jevons ahead of the crucial home clash with Aldershot.

The former Everton trainee has missed the last three games with a calf injury and McIlroy is desperate to have him available for a match which could seal the Shrimps' play-off spot.

Defender Laurence Wilson and midfielder Stewart Drummond came through last weekend's 3-2 win at Shrewsbury unscathed after recent injuries.

Defender Dave Artell, who scored twice last week, is set to keep his place in preference to Will Haining.

A draw would be enough for McIlroy's side to seal a play-off spot after their outstanding end-of-season run-in which has seen them win six of their last eight games.

Aldershot defender Andy Sandell is a doubt for the trip.

Left-back Sandell made his return from a lengthy absence with a hamstring injury at Cheltenham a fortnight ago but then picked up a groin problem during last weekend's 3-1 win over Lincoln.

He is touch and go to start so Anthony Straker could again move back to full-back.

Midfielders John Halls and Ben Harding could return to the starting line-up as manager Kevin Dillon eyes the play-offs, where Morecambe could yet provide the opposition.

Right-back Ben Herd is still out with a damaged ankle and midfielder Oliver Bozanic has returned to Reading at the end of his loan spell.
