Motherwell winger Jim O'Brien has signed a pre-contract agreement with Barnsley.
Both clubs confirmed on their official websites that the 22-year-old would move to the Coca-Cola Championship club in the summer.
The former Celtic player, who enjoyed loan spells at Dunfermline and Dundee United before signing for Motherwell, will make his final appearance for the club on Sunday against Clydesdale Bank Premier League champions Rangers.
The former Republic of Ireland Under-21 international, who is keen to represent native country Scotland, had attracted interest from several SPL clubs including Aberdeen and Hearts.
Motherwell had also offered O'Brien a new contract but he has chosen to further his career at Oakwell.
