Beaten 3-0 by Manchester City in the Carabao Cup final on Sunday afternoon, Arsenal once again found themselves three goals down on Thursday night.Hosting Pep Guardiola's side in the Premier League, Arsenal were 3-0 down within 35 minutes after goals from Bernardo Silva, David Silva and Leroy Sane. The Citizens were absolutely terrific on a cold London night - and ripped Arsene Wenger's defence to shreds in the first half.Arsenal's top four hopes look dead in the water and they must surely win the Europa League in order to qualify for next season's Champions League."Arsenal are not doing so well in the Premier League but they have a good chance to win the Europa League," said Arsenal legend Robert Pires."If you lift the trophy you go straight to the Champions League and everybody knows that for Arsenal, this competition is very important."The Gunners face AC Milan in the last 16 of the Europa League.

Michael Owen's tweet about Wenger

The former Liverpool, Real Madrid and Manchester United striker took to social media immediately after City went 3-0 up.

Pressure has been mounting on Wenger and Owen believes "the time has come" after 21 years in north London.

The Emirates wasn't even half-full for the key Premier League meeting but boos from the home support rang out at the half-time whistle.

"This is going to be the longest hour of Wengers life," Owen tweeted. "Got to feel for him but the time has come. City on a different planet."

Owen is right - the time has surely come for the veteran Frenchman to step down.

Wenger has been in charge since 1996 but Arsenal's decline over the last 10 years has been painful for their loyal supporters.

"I have been here for 21 years and I always respected my contract," Wenger said after Sunday's cup final thrashing.

"In life, I look at what people do, not at what they say. If you want me not to be here, that's a different problem. You ask me my commitment, and my attitude is dictated by what I did in my life, not by what I say in a press conference."
