Arsenal hit rock bottom during Sunday's trip to Brighton & Hove Albion as they went 2-0 down within 26 minutes at the Amex Stadium.

Goals from Lewis Dunk and Glenn Murray both came courtesy of woeful defending from the Gunners and mistakes from the ageing Petr Cech.

For Brighton's seventh-minute opener, Cech wasn't nearly strong enough at a corner and lost out to Shane Duffy, whose header found Dunk to fire home.

And for Murray's goal, Laurent Koscielny gave the ball away carelessly while Shkodran Mustafi was in no man's land. Cech, once again, should have done much better.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang then made it 2-1 in the 43rd minute from Granit Xhaka's cross, giving Arsenal a glimmer of hope of recovering.

Arsenal were much improved in the second period but the fact remains these are very worrying times for Arsene Wenger's men - not to mention for the Frenchman himself.

Many believe this is the worst side to have ever played under Wenger, despite boasting the talented likes of Mesut Ozil, Jack Wilshere and Aubameyang.

That's the opinion of Rio Ferdinand anyway, who dropped nothing short of a truth bomb on Arsenal during the Brighton game.

In the tweet below, Ferdinand claimed that the current Arsenal team is THE worst he has ever seen, regardless of the talent the players possess.

FERDINAND SPEAKS THE TRUTH

He wrote: "Confidence through the floor. Worst Arsenal TEAM I have seen in my time. Talent alone has never been enough."

Ferdinand is in no doubt - and he's not wrong. Arsenal have never looked less like a cohesive team and unfortunately for Wenger, the blame lies with him.
