Swans hold midfielder contract talks

Midfielder Shaun MacDonald will hold talks with Swansea to discuss his future as he comes to the end of his contract.

MacDonald believes he has improved and would relish the opportunity to prove himself in the Coca-Cola Championship with Paulo Sousa's side.

"Football is a confidence game and I've never had a run of games at Swansea to get my confidence up," MacDonald told the South Wales Evening Post. "Until I hear what they have got to say, I will not think about anything else."

The Wales Under-21 international will be a free agent next month but is expected to be offered a new deal after returning from a loan spell at Yeovil.

He added: "But I think I made 36 appearances this season and it's been my best so far in professional football. Hopefully I can build on that now, and the first thing I want to do is speak to Swansea.
