When Deontay Wilder defeated Luis Ortiz last Saturday, the American answered some long-standing questions.
It had been argued that the 32-year-old had never really beaten anyone of note. It had also been said Wilder's chin had not been tested.
Both of those claims were answered rather emphatically, just like when Anthony Joshua beat Wladimir Klitschko. Some might even argue Klitschko is a bracket above Ortiz.
WBC heavyweight champion Wilder says he is now ready to face AJ in a heavyweight unification fight, but first, Watford-born Joshua must get past WBO heavyweight champion Joseph Parker.
Joshua can hold up his end of the bargain on March 31 at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff, Wales and the winner is almost certain to face Wilder in a winner-take-all contest later this year.
However, legendary heavyweight champion Evander Holyfield is concerned the mega-money bout between Wilder and Joshua won't take place at all.
"I don't know if Joshua is going to beat Parker," he said. "Parker's a great fighter with a good mindset."
"All three of them have got the mindset and all three are youngish too," Holyfield told BBC Sport.
Holyfield thinks that if Joshua manages to get past Parker, he must seek to make the fight with Wilder as quickly as possible.
"If Joshua wins (against Parker), I think he and Wilder can both make about $250m (£180m) so why not make the money while the money's there?
"In being a great fighter you make money because you have proven to the people you are the best out there."
The Real Deal, who famously had his ear bitten off by Mike Tyson, went on to suggest that Wilder is the current favourite to win out of the two because of the confidence he will take from the Ortiz bout.
"Your confidence gets even bigger," Holyfield added. "When I beat George Foreman, I didn't think a person with two hands could beat me. It didn't matter how big or small they were.
"The guy with the most confidence, they get their hands off first. Somehow they figure things out because when you have confidence, you have no fear, so they take chances whether they win or lose. A person who doesn't take chances loses."
