Frankie Edgar has finally been stopped inside the cage, as Brian Ortega became the first man in mixed martial arts (MMA) history to do just that this past weekend at UFC 222 live on pay-per-view (PPV).Edgar was originally scheduled to main event the night against UFC featherweight champion Max Holloway. Unfortunately "The Blessed One" suffered an injury that forced him to pull out of the fight. Ortega stepped in to fight Edgar for the No. 1-contender's spot for the featherweight throne.A women's featherweight title defense between Cris "Cyborg" Justino against UFC newcomer Yana Kunitskaya was added to the card and made the main event, while Ortega vs. Edgar served as the new co-headliner.In the first round of Edgar and Ortega's match-up "The Answer" seemed to be doing pretty well for himself on the feet. He landed some nice shots and was the better of the two as far as range and landing ability went.At one point Edgar went for a takedown but pulled out after Ortega threatened a guillotine choke. Ortega then landed a nice step-in elbow that rocked Edgar bad, and the follow-up uppercut sent the former lightweight champion off his feet and to the canvas.Following a bit of ground-and-pound the ref called the fight off and Ortega picked up the biggest win of his MMA career. While it was a great moment for Ortega, it was a terrible one for Edgar who now loses out on his featherweight title opportunity after losing a fight he never needed to take.He took to Twitter after the loss and had this to say on the matter, vowing to "put it all on the line' once again:"Saturday did not go as planned, congrats to Ortega he definitely got me with some good ones."Thanks to all my peers, my team, my friends, and my fans for their nice words, they don't go unnoticed. All I can do now is dust myself off and get ready to put it all on the line again."

What are your thoughts on Edgar saying that he's getting ready to put it all on the line again? Do you think that Edgar should take some time off after the bad knockout loss to Ortega? And who would you like to see Edgar fight next? Let us know your thoughts on the matter in the comments section below!
