There's just something about Cristiano Ronaldo and the Champions League, isn't there?Even when the Real Madrid star made a slow start to the season, you could put your house on the fact he'd score in Europe. And with another strike against Paris Saint-Germain on Tuesday night he reached the remarkable feat of having scored in all eight of Los Blancos' Champions League fixtures this season. Incredible. Moreover, his finish at the Parc des Princes was yet another reminder of an aspect of Ronaldo's game that is only thriving with age - his striker's instinct. It was a point made by Rio Ferdinand before the game with Ronaldo's ex-Manchester United teammate revelling in his successful transition from a tricky winger to a lethal centre forward.

Ronaldo proves Ferdinand right against PSG

While Ronaldo has been a prolific goalscorer all of his career, he has thrived in the six-yard box and as a more central character this season.

So when the five-time Ballon d'Or headed home at the back-post in France, the point couldn't have been clearer.

Ronaldo: Decent out wide but unstoppable at centre forward

Nevertheless, this wasn't exactly the case in the first-half when Ronaldo played out wide and didn't enjoy as much success. Moving more centrally after the break, though, worked a treat and couldn't have complimented Ferdinand's point better.

At 33, Ronaldo isn't the same player out wide but boy can he deliver down the middle. Fans on Twitter were onto it, too - check out the reaction:

Zinedine Zidane should take note and there's every reason to suggest Ronaldo could have caused havoc from the get-go if he wasn't busy hugging the touchlines.

The inclusion of Karim Benzema in the side no doubt causes complications yet the Frenchman has proven in the past that he can fill the number ten position.

Regardless, however, Ferdinand had it spot on and the difference Ronaldo's change in position made against PSG not only reiterates it but has knocked out one of the Champions League favourites in the process.
