Burton are hoping to sign transfer-listed winger Cleveland Taylor from Brentford.

Taylor made a big impact at the Pirelli Stadium after joining on loan in mid-January but Brentford may want a fee for the 26-year-old as he is only halfway through a two-year contract.

"I would like to have Cleveland at the club next season but I would need to make sure that any deal is financially right for us," Brewers boss Paul Peschisolido told the Burton Mail.

"It would have been nice if Brentford had paid Cleveland up and released him, but that doesn't appear to be the case. The fact they have made him available for transfer suggests they might be expecting money for him, which might make things more difficult from our point of view.

"I first need to find out whether Brentford are looking for money for Cleveland, and even after that I don't know at this stage whether we could come to an agreement over personal terms. In all honesty, I don't envisage any decisions being made until well into the summer."

Peschisolido added: "Cleveland did extremely well for us and fitted in superbly. He wasn't like a loan signing because he gelled so well with the rest of the lads that it felt like he was one or our own."
