When the Golden State Warriors entertained the Brooklyn Nets at Oracle Arena on Monday night, it wasn't expected to be much of a contest but it turned out to be slightly tougher than many would've thought. The Dubs secured a 114-101 win but they were made to work hard for it by a tenacious and resilient Nets team. The Warriors looked set for a resounding victory when they went on a stunning 26-0 run in the first quarter to open up a 16-point lead. But Brooklyn fought back impressively and outscored the defending champions 34-13 in the second quarter to trail by just five points at half-time.This was largely due to their hard work on the defensive end which was epitomised by one of the highlight plays of the game by Joe Harris. With Draymond Green racing to the basket for an easy transition dunk, Harris didn't give up on the play and produced an incredible block to prevent the bucket.

It was a play that the Defensive Player of the Year himself would've been proud of. Green surely wouldn't have expected to be met at the top and rejected by Harris of all players.

But the Nets shooting guard gave the three-time All-Star a taste of his own medicine with this terrific swat.

In 23 minutes, Harris finished with six points, four rebounds, one assist and the one highlight block.

For the season, the 26-year-old is averaging 10.6 points, 1.5 assists, and 3.5 rebounds per game and has established himself as a solid role player for the New York-based franchise.

He has become a reliable three-point threat as he's connecting on 40.6 percent of his shots from beyond the arc this year, which ranks him in the top 30 in the league.

Just two years ago, the former Virginia product admitted he was almost on his way out of the league after playing just five games with the Cleveland Cavaliers when they drafted him with the number 33 pick in the 2014 draft.

He was picked up by the Nets in 2016 and he's developed well with the franchise during his time in the Big Apple.

Harris is on a modest $1.5 million contract and will be a free agent this summer where he'll look to make a significant increase in his salary.

He's already stated that he enjoys playing in Brooklyn and would love to stay, but it'll be up to the front office to make him an offer that would see him commit for the long-term.
