The New Orleans Pelicans extended their winning streak to 10 games last night against the Sacramento Kings, but their winning streak could soon be coming to an end after Anthony Davis went down with another injury during the game. The Pelicans defeated the Kings 114-101 at the Golden 1 Center in Sacramento on Wednesday night, with Nikola Mirotic leading the way with a double-double performance of 26 points, 10 rebounds while being 10-of-12 from the field. However, for the second time in the space of two games, Davis picked up an injury and was forced to leave the game early. He exited the game last night in the third quarter when he rolled his left ankle after grabbing a rebound. The New Orleans star didn't return to the game, finishing with 17 points, five rebounds, five blocks, two steals, and an assist in 23 minutes. The Pelicans announced that X-rays taken were negative after the game, but head coach Alvin Gentry said to ESPN after the game that the power forward will get an MRI on Thursday when the team returns home.Gentry said: "Won't know anything until tomorrow. They took X-rays but couldn't really tell a lot from the X-rays, so we'll go back home, and I'm sure he'll have an MRI at some stage tomorrow, and we'll have more information."

Davis contested a rebound with Kings center Kosta Koufos but fell down. He immediately grabbed his ankle before slowly getting to his feet. He remained in the game briefly before leaving with just over three minutes left in the third.

He also appeared to be getting fitted for a walking boot after the game, but he also said he feels fine when he talked about the play which caused the injury.

The power forward said: "I feel fine, but they'll have the team doctor look at it tomorrow and go from there. Any time you twist an ankle it hurts, especially coming off somebody's foot, because you really don't have any protection. It was sore. I just wanted to make sure everything was fine."

The Pelicans will be hoping that Davis is able to play in their next game back in New Orleans when they host the Washington Wizards on Friday night.
