It was always going to be tough for Tottenham to bounce back from their Champions League exit against Juventus in the space of a few days.On Wednesday, it looked as though Spurs would be going through to the last-eight of the competition until two goals in the space of three minutes for Juventus - before some resolute defending - saw Mauricio Pochettino’s side crash out.But they needed to pick themselves up for the trip to Bournemouth with the prospect of jumping ahead of Liverpool into third in the Premier League with a win. However, their Champions League hangover was clear for all to see in the early stages.Junior Stanislas somehow hit the crossbar from close range after just four minutes but he made amends three minutes later after firing in from Adam Smith’s cross. But it wasn’t just the Bournemouth players that were giving it their all - one of their ball boys was in on the act. After Spurs were awarded a throw in their own half, the ball boy clearly wanted to slow down play and refused to give the ball to Jan Vertonghen. Instead, he held onto for as long as possible before throwing the ball at the defender’s legs. But referee Mike Dean wasn’t having any of it. He went to have a word with his fourth-official before a man who appeared to be head of the ball boys had a stern word with him.

While we certainly don’t encourage such behaviour from ball boys, football fans were loving the antics of this cheeky youngster.

He probably shouldn’t attempt this when Chelsea next come to the Vitality Stadium, though.

Remember when Eden Hazard didn’t take too kindly to a Swansea ball boy holding onto the ball for too long?
