With WWE Fastlane in the books, all eyes were on Monday Night RAW to see what would be the next move for John Cena.

It was common knowledge that he wasn’t going to be claiming a record-breaking 17th world title on Sunday night, a match in which AJ Styles emerged victorious to retain his WWE Championship. Instead, Cena jumped back over to the red brand to do what many fans were expecting him to do - call out The Undertaker yet again.

Although there was speculation that The Deadman would appear at the Fastlane event to make the match official, it seems as if WWE switched plans to have Cena call out The Undertaker in the lead up to a return.

UNDERTAKER CALLOUT

This time, though, he laid into The Phenom with another incredible promo.

Cena and WWE have done a good job of conveying plenty of emotion in Cena in recent weeks, as they’re building the story revolving around the fact that Cena might not even make it to the Grandest Stage of Them All and might be forced to watch as a fan. Obviously, that won’t happen but the delivery of his promo on Monday night showed how he was trying to goad The Undertaker into having one final match with some savage comments.

As you’ll be able to see in the video at the bottom of this article, Cena challenged The Undertaker numerous times and claimed the only person keeping the match from happening is The Deadman himself.

That’s where he then turned things up a notch where he looked a little more fired-up than usual.

Cena told ‘Taker to get over his own ego and the difference between the two of them is when they fail, Cena gets back up and goes back to work while The Undertaker hides his head in the sand. This is in reference to his two big WrestleMania losses to both Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns. When the streak ended, The Undertaker wasn’t seen until the build-up to SummerSlam while the only time The Undertaker has been on television since his WrestleMania 33 loss is when he appeared at the RAW 25 event.

Cena went on to add: “Stop hiding behind your lame excuses. You are not too old, you are not washed up, you are not broken down because if you was broken down, you wouldn’t be posting workout videos on your wife’s Instagram.”

Ouch. And the immediate reaction from fans to that burn spoke volumes.

Cena’s reference of one more match now has fans thinking that - finally - WrestleMania 34 could be the final match we see of The Undertaker, and there’s no opponent more fitting than Cena, as he’s someone who never got The Deadman at the Grandest Stage of Them All.
