Braun Strowman is someone who has been linked with several big matches for WrestleMania 34.

There was talk that he could be saved by WWE as a potential backup for Roman Reigns and could end up challenging Brock Lesnar for the Universal Championship. However, that now looks to be off the cards.

Something WWE fans didn’t like the sound of was that The Monster Among Men might not be in a match at all. Instead, WWE might have used him in an angle instead where he could show off his superior strength on a huge platform like WrestleMania.

However, his plans for the Grandest Stage of Them All next month now look to be confirmed. Just like Strowman, it was unclear what Sheamus and Cesaro of The Bar would be doing.

Originally, two plans were speculated with the first being them going up against two stars who are currently not partners and the second - like Strowman - was them being involved in an angle instead of a match.

However, it’s the first option WWE seems to be going ahead with as Strowman won a number one contenders match by himself which means that in New Orleans, Strowman should be challenging for the RAW Tag Team Championships.

Now, all talk turns to who Strowman could team up with inside of the Superdome and if speculation from Wrestling Inc is to be believed, then WWE could pair him up with a rather surprising name.

The source is claiming that WWE could have Elias team up with Strowman to challenge The Bar for the gold. Strowman and Elias have been butting heads for a while now, especially in the build-up to the Elimination Chamber. WWE does have a tendency to have odd pairings go for the gold, even Sheamus and Cesaro can be in that bracket.

However, Dave Meltzer discussed the situation on the latest edition of Wrestling Observer Live as fans understandably had questions over plans for Strowman. Meltzer went on to suggest that Vince McMahon apparently still hasn’t decided whether Strowman will have a partner or whether he might make it a handicap match.

According to Ringside News, he said: “Whether Strowman has a partner or not, Vince may know. Nobody else does, Vince is going to make that call. So people who are asking is it handicap match or is he going to pick a partner? The answer is that Vince hasn’t decided or at least he hasn’t told anybody or almost nobody because that is still up in the air.”

While Vince might change his mind and make it a handicap match, it’s clear from all of the speculation online that Elias is leading the race to team up with Strowman, especially since The Drifter currently doesn’t have any WrestleMania 34 plans.
