Ronda Rousey's mixed martial arts (MMA) future seems to be in doubt by fans, but "The Rowdy One" doesn't seem so quick to call it a career just yet.
After suffering back-to-back knockout losses to Holly Holm and Amanda Nunes, Rousey has been absent from the fighting world. In fact, she has singed a contract with WWE and has now embarked in a career as a professional wrestler.
Rousey is set to make her in-ring debut at WrestleMania 34 when she teams up with Kurt Angle to take on Triple H and Stephanie McMahon in a Mixed Tag Team match.
She recently made an appearance on The Ellen Show to talk about her new career in wrestling. Rousey was asked about whether or not she'll ever return to fight in the UFC again.
While Rousey admitted she doesn't know what the future holds as far as fighting goes, she refused to officially announce she has retired from MMA competition (quotes via MMA Fighting):
“I don’t know,” Rousey told Ellen DeGeneres. “I think it’s just as likely as me going back to another Olympics for judo.
"No one demanded a written resignation from me for judo and I don’t really think the same thing is necessary for fighting. I’m just doing what I enjoy and WWE is what I enjoy right now.
“It’s like a team,” Rousey said of the choreographed world of WWE. “I’ve never been on a team my whole life. I was a swimmer, that was alone.
"I did judo, that was alone. I was a fighter, that was alone. With WWE, it’s like a big team. Everybody is working together to try to make it as great as possible."
Rousey's wrestling debut goes down at WrestleMania 34 on April 8th from New Orleans, Louisiana, and she says she's actually not as nervous for her match as you'd think:
“I’m nervous, but it’s not like Olympics nervous,” Rousey said. “The worst thing that’ll happen is I’ll look stupid, which is not the worst thing that could really happen.
"I can’t think of the last time I was so excited for anything. I’m really looking forward to it, you know what I mean?”
What are your thoughts on Rousey not fully closing the door on a possible return to the UFC sometime down the road? Do you think that we'll ever see her compete inside the Octagon again? Or will she finish out her athletic career in professional wrestling with the WWE? Let us know your thoughts on the matter in the comments section below!
