Many questioned Neymar's motives for leaving Barcelona and joining Paris Saint-Germain, and it seems he too regrets the decision.
The Brazilian has shown on a consistent basis how easy he finds Ligue 1, but there have been multiple reports suggesting he is unsettled at the club.
And, just seven months after leaving for France, it is becoming increasingly likely by the day that he will return to Spain in the summer.
A return to Barcelona has been mooted, but it seems they do not have the financial capabilities to spring an offer; especially so after they splashed out roughly £250 million on Ousmane Dembele and Philippe Coutinho to replace him.
Thus, his most likely landing spot is undoubtedly Real Madrid, with Los Blancos willing to spend up to €400 million to make Neymar the club's next Galactico.
THE REASONS WHY NEYMAR WANTS TO LEAVE
There has been much speculation as to why Neymar wants to leave, and now Marca have reported why that is the case.
According to the Spanish publication, the Brazilian is fed up of playing in a lesser league like the French Ligue 1, which isn't surprising at all considering how much better his side are in comparison to the rest.
And secondly, the report claims that the 26-year-old does not get on well with his teammates, but four more so than the others.
Edinson Cavani, who has had numerous run ins with Neymar throughout the season is one, where as the Brazilian also has bad relations with the Argentina contingent, Angel Di Maria, Javier Pastore and Giovani Lo Celso.
Le Parisien stated in October that PSG players were unhappy with the special privileges Neymar receives at the club, and that damaged his relations with a number of his teammates. It seems the four aforementioned took exception the most.
Due to these problems, Marca conclude that Neymar wants to leave now, with Real Madrid as his preferred destination.
Neymar initially moved to Paris in order to challenge Lionel Messi for the Ballon d'Or, but he has conceded that the quality is too low in France.
He is now in a hurry to be playing at the highest level at the peak of his career, and he believes he can achieve all of his goals at Los Blancos.
BUT WILL HE LEAVE?
Despite strong rumours suggesting Neymar wants out of PSG, his father has moved to quash these rumours.
Speaking at a press conference on Tuesday, he said, per Goal: "Neymar has a future at PSG. His present is also PSG."
And PSG's president also claimed that Neymar has no problems in the French capital.
"He is happy, very motivated and excited to come back as soon as possible," the president remarked. "He is doing everything possible to return, we hope he will be back to play in the league and the cup this season."
