WWE fans were never really treated to the full Shield reunion that was promised last year due to several problems.

First, Kurt Angle was forced to replace Roman Reigns due to The Big Dog suffering from meningitis and when it looked like the reunion was coming, Dean Ambrose was struck down with an injury so Jason Jordan was brought into the fold.

To make matters worse, Jordan got injured too.

What frustrated fans the most was that there were rumours that a huge heel turn was coming for The Lunatic Fringe. This time, the roles were said to be reversed and Ambrose would be the one stabbing Rollins in the back and in the end, it would culminate in a big match at WrestleMania 34.

Instead, Ambrose looks to be missing out on a match at the Grandest Stage of Them All while The Kingslayer will be involved in a triple threat match for the Intercontinental Championship when he goes up against The Miz and Finn Balor.

Rollins knows exactly what it feels like to miss WrestleMania, as he suffered a devastating knee injury which means he had to watch WrestleMania 32 from the nosebleeds, while he also cut it fine in the build-up to his match against Triple H at WrestleMania 33.

According to Still Real To Us, Rollins said: “Neither of us, myself and Dean, had ever suffered any major injuries.

“For me, in the months I was recovering, it was a good experience to step back away from being a pro wrestler and be myself and live my life and experience some things I never had the time for.

“If you’re going to get hurt, the period around WrestleMania is the worst time. Ambrose is the man. He’ll be back. It’s not about WrestleMania this year, it’s about WrestleMania next year and the year after that. It’s about the long term.”

Rollins knows more than anyone what it feels like to miss WrestleMania.

However, it wouldn’t be a huge surprise if Rollins is trying to throw fans off the scent that perhaps Ambrose could appear at WrestleMania in some capacity - or even the RAW after WrestleMania.
