The Portland Trail Blazers continued their fine form against top teams, beating the Cleveland Cavaliers 113-105 to win their 11th game in a row.

Their winning streak is the team’s longest since 2013, and has seen them twice defeat the Golden State Warriors and beat division rivals Minnesota, Oklahoma City and Utah.

CJ McCollum led the way with 29 points, while Damian Lillard added 24.

The Toronto Raptors are also on a roll, toppling the Indiana Pacers 106-99 to earn their 10th straight victory.

DeMar DeRozan finished with 24 points – 16 of them scored in the second half – as the Raptors moved within one win of tying the franchise record for most consecutive victories.

The Eastern Conference leaders have also recorded at least 100 points in 21 games in a row.

League rivals the Houston Rockets – who top the Western Conference – were also on fine form, edging the Los Angeles Clippers 101-96.

A nail-biting end to the game saw the Clippers score six straight points to cut the lead with less than a minute to go – but James Harden made a free throw with six seconds remaining to seal the victory for the Rockets.

It was a poignant game for the New Orleans Pelicans, whose owner Tom Benson died at the age of 90 earlier in the day.

Anthony Davis, who had inscribed a tribute message on his trainers, scored 21 points in the match-up with the San Antonio Spurs, but it was not enough to clinch the win.

In the end, the Spurs closed out the game 98-93.

Meanwhile, the struggling New York Knicks were left disappointed once again, as the Philadelphia 76ers had a big final quarter to win 118-110.

Joel Embiid recorded 29 points and 10 rebounds, while Ben Simmons finished with a triple-double.

Elsewhere, Nikola Jokic scored 23 points as the Denver Nuggets defeated the Detroit Pistons 120-113, while the Utah Jazz scooped an eighth straight victory, beating the Phoenix Suns 116-88.

The Charlotte Hornets overcame the Atlanta Hawks 129-117, and the Chicago Bulls handed the Memphis Grizzlies their 19th straight loss in a game which the Bulls won 111-110.
