There must be some concerns within Barcelona about the amount of attention that Simons is receiving right now; what’s happening to him is simply incredible.

Per Marca, Simons already has his own dedicated social media team that handles his online presence.

He recently hit one million followers on Instagram, where his posts include his own logo.

The Spanish outlet also report that the Dutchman has been told he is certain to play for Barcelona’s first team one day.

It’s easy to wonder how the commotion and the promises will impact Simons’ development - telling a 14-year-old that a place in Barcelona’s senior squad is already guaranteed doesn’t seem like the best way to motivate him.

Yet one glance at his highlights and you can understand just why the youngster is the talk of La Masia.

Simons has even had the luxury of meeting his namesake and Barcelona legend Xavi Hernandez.

"I was with the physio when Xavi came over,” Simons said.

“When I told him that my name was also Xavi, he laughed. It was funny. He’s my idol.

"I know it’s difficult but I will do everything to make it.”

With everyone talking about Simons, it’s going to be impossible to ignore his journey.
