It's been a tough couple of months for Chelsea striker Alvaro Morata.Heading into Sunday's FA Cup clash with Leicester City, the Spaniard had gone 14 games without a goal, his last coming against Brighton on Boxing Day.Morata's poor form has even seen him excluded from the latest Spain squad - and the man who's replaced him? None other than Diego Costa.According to La Roja's manager, Julen Lopetegui, Morata was dropped for several reasons but still has a chance of making this summer's World Cup in Russia."Tomorrow is not the World Cup, there are players that are not included but have their chances intact as is the case with the players included," said Lopetegui."We are looking to get more information about players. [Morata] has had several problems, he has played little but his chances are intact.

"Morata, I am sure, will have a great end to the season and will have a good chance of going to the World Cup.

"We felt it was the right moment for [the new faces]. They are in good form but still there are others that deserve to be included and are not there."

Time is of the essence for Morata to prove to Lopetegui that he deserves to go to the World Cup, though he did finally score against Leicester at the King Power Stadium.

The 25-year-old started the game poorly but in the 42nd minute he broke the deadlock with a composed finish past Kasper Schmeichel.

Morata's goal - and everything he did before hand - had Chelsea fans talking and what they were saying during the game is actually pretty true.

Chelsea fans believe Morata is going through the same thing Fernando Torres did at the club, in that he can produce moments of brilliance but otherwise struggles to make a real impact.

MORATA REMINISCENT OF TORRES

Morata delivered when it mattered most, but his overall performance was disappointing and he gave away possession on numerous occasions.

Adapting to English football was never going to be easy, so Chelsea fans will only hope his goal against Leicester gave him the confidence boost he needed.
