Shrewsbury's stadium has officially been renamed the Greenhous Meadow.

Previously named the Prostar Stadium, sponsors Greenhous gave Town fans the chance to select the new name from a shortlist having extended their shirt deal to also cover the club`s ground.

'Meadow' was not originally included on the list but strong demand saw it take its place among the contenders, before a vote several thousand-strong saw it emerge as the overwhelming favourite.

The new name incorporates memories of the club's old stadium - Gay Meadow - which they left in the summer of 2007 to take residence at their new all-seater home.

The change fits in nicely for the new season as Shrews celebrate their 125th anniversary, with the appropriate changes around the ground due to be made towards the end of next month.
