They’re second in the Premier League and through to the semi-final of the FA Cup, but things aren’t all positive at Manchester United right now.

Jose Mourinho has been firing shots at his players in press conferences, while Alexis Sanchez has really struggled since his January move from Arsenal.

But it’s the ongoing problem with Paul Pogba that is probably the most worrying.

It started back in January, when the Frenchman was dragged off during United’s 2-0 loss against Tottenham at Wembley.

The same again happened during the loss to Newcastle less than two weeks later before he started being dropped to the bench by Mourinho.

And just when he appeared to be playing his way back in Mourinho’s good-books, Pogba got injured ahead of Liverpool’s visit to Old Trafford.

United won without Pogba but the £89 million signing was seen after the match at the Theatre of Dreams in the tunnel.

MOURINHO WASN'T HAPPY WITH THE HANDSHAKE

And he made an obvious effort to show everyone his relationship with Mourinho is fine by giving him a big handshake while Mourinho was being interviewed by Match of the Day.

It was a gesture that was supposed to shut everyone up that was saying Mourinho and Pogba had fallen out.

However, it seems it might have done more harm than good.

That’s because, according to The Sun, Mourinho ‘blasted’ Pogba for interrupting his interview.

HOW MOURINHO REACTED TO POGBA'S HANDSHAKE

The report states: “Jose Mourinho gave Paul Pogba a dressing down after the French star interrupted a TV interview he was giving.” They go on state that Mourinho "saw his antics as disrespectful in front of the TV cameras."

Incidentally, Pogba hasn’t started either of the two matches since that incident. Mourinho may have laughed it off at the time but it seems he was far from impressed.

But quite why Mourinho was so annoyed at his player is unknown. It was only a congratulatory handshake and yet Mourinho feels the need to slam his player afterward.

Ridiculous.

Pogba is currently away on International duty with France and his national team manager, Didier Deschamps, has spoken about Pogba’s current situation at United.

“There must be numerous reasons,” Deschamps said. “It can happen elsewhere that a player is a bit down or is going through a particular situation with his club. That could be Paul now, or others at other times, and I will do as I always do and talk to that player to understand better, because I don’t have all the information.”
