At the end of SmackDown Live this week, Daniel Bryan decided to fire Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn for their attack on Shane McMahon the week before, and it seems both WWE, Owens, and Zayn are going above and beyond to sell the firing angle.

With the return of Bryan to in-ring action this week, many WWE fans believed the company was going in the direction to change Owens vs Zayn at WrestleMania 34 into a tag team match of Owens and Zayn vs Bryan and Shane McMahon.

However, in the main event of this week's blue brand show, Bryan storyline fired Zayn and Owens for their attack on the SmackDown commissioner the week before. Unhappy about this, both The Underdog from the Underground and The Prizefighter attacked The King of Beards to close the show.

After the SmackDown general manager was attacked by the two superstars for firing them, WWE followed up on the firing angle by removing their match from WrestleMania preview advertisement, as well moving their superstar profiles to the alumni sections of their website.

Both Owens and Zayn have even sold the firing angle further on their own Twitter pages which fans will appreciate. The Prizefighter even went as far as to change his Twitter name and Twitter handle to Kevin Steen, his real name and the name he used outside of the WWE.

According to Wrestling Observer Live, via Rajah, Shane and Bryan vs. Zayn and Owens match will likely go ahead with a stipulation such as a No-DQ or "unsanctioned" match to keep with the firing storyline.

As well as this, it is further believed that WWE could keep both of them storyline fired until after this year's Showcase of the Immortals and then move them back to Monday Night Raw in April as part of the likely Superstar Shakeup.

It's great to see WWE going above and beyond to sell a firing angle, as at times in the past for this type of storyline, they haven't gone to this extent. Hopefully they will do this for more storylines in the future.
