Golden State Warriors fans will be glad to hear that progress is being made in terms of the health of their big four players of Steph Curry, Kevin Durant, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green just in time for the playoffs.

Speaking to the media this week, Warriors head coach Steve Kerr talked about his star point guard and said that he looked great during his first practice back from injury on Wednesday after missing the last few games with an ankle injury.

Curry sprained his right ankle during Golden State's game against the San Antonio Spurs on March 8. Following a successful practice this week, the target is still for him to play in the team's game against the Atlanta Hawks on Friday.

Kerr said after practice on Wednesday according to Connor Letourneau of the San Francisco Chronicle: “Steph was great. He’s chomping at the bit. We’ll see how he responds the next couple days before we decide whether he plays or not.”

ESPN's Chris Haynes added that Kerr isn't so optimistic about the status of Durant and Thompson playing this week following their rib and thumb injuries respectively.

The Warriors head coach said: "I think Steph is closer to playing than KD and Klay ... We're going to be cautious with all of them. ... This is not like a timetable of two to three days. It's just more of a feel thing."

Durant participated in Wednesday’s non-contact practice, but Kerr has said he wouldn’t have played if the team had scrimmaged. Thompson, who will have his fractured right thumb re-evaluated Thursday, was a partial participant. Both players are probably more than a week away from returning.

As for Green, he didn't practice on Wednesday and is considered day-to-day. His injury is a pelvic contusion which occurred midway through the second quarter of Monday's loss to the Spurs.

The Warriors currently find themselves four games behind the Houston Rockets at the top of the Western Conference, so the sooner they can get their big four back on the court the better, but having Curry return this Friday will be a huge boost for them.

The Warriors are a sparkling 40-10 with Curry this season, who has been averaging 26.3 points, 6.2 assists and 5.1 rebounds per game for the team.
