Roman Reigns has become one of the most polarizing superstars in the WWE today, some would even say even more polarizing than John Cena since, in many people's eyes, he was selected by WWE's hierarchy to be his successor when it comes to being the face of the company.

Yet, it is important to remember that, just like Cena, there are many WWE fans that cheer for The Big Dog and wish for him to succeed in his matches. Still, almost four years on since the start of his main event push, and he's still receiving a strong mixed reaction from fans.

Reigns recently appeared on the Cheap Heat podcast with Peter Rosenberg to discuss the mixed reaction he still receives from WWE fans today where he was asked if he wonders why fans still boo him despite him being portrayed as a babyface.

In his response, the three-time world champion said that he doesn't give too much thought to where the mixed reaction comes from as he doesn't want to waste time questioning why some people hate him. He even went as far as to suggest some fans might even be jealous of his position.

Reigns said, via Wrestling Inc: "I think there is a lot of different things you can chalk it up to I'm sure. In life, everyone wants to see you do good, but not too good, you know what I mean?

"Once you pass that threshold of doing really well for major success, then I think the questions, possible jealousy come out and that is when negativity starts showing its face, but if you are strong in your convictions and know who you are, you have to be bulletproof to that."

The Big Dog also said at the end of the day, he doesn't care if the reaction he receives is positive or negative, so long as he still receives a strong reaction. Whether that reaction is cheers or boos doesn't bother him one bit.

He said: "I think it is still a very strong reaction. I have always been that way though. Before anyone knew who I was, I'm either the type of person, which I don't know if it's because of how I carry myself, how I talk, but you either like me or you don't. There is not much gray area with me. You're either with me, or you don't like me."

Reigns may have been pushed into the main event scene at a time when he wasn't a main event caliber superstar, but after being the headline act of the past three WrestleMania (most likely four after this year's event), it's hard to deny that he hasn't earned the spot now.

Either way, WWE fans will continue to either boo or cheer The Big Dog for years to come, just like they have done for countless years with Cena, his face of the company predecessor.
