One of the biggest storylines heading into WrestleMania is John Cena's "Road To WrestleMania," and his repeated issued challenges out to The Undertaker.

Cena has failed on several occasions to punch his ticket to this year's "Showcase Of The Immortals." He was unable to win the Royal Rumble match this past January, instead falling to SmackDown Live's Shinsuke Nakamura.

He was then put into the Elimination Chamber match for RAW, which would've earned him a shot at Brock Lesnar's Universal Championship. Cena had a final opportunity to earn his way to WrestleMania at the Fastlane pay-per-view (PPV).

Cena challenged for AJ Styles' WWE Title in a Six Pack Challenge match; alongside Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn, Baron Corbin, and Dolph Ziggler. "The Phenomenal One" was able to retain his title and secure his "dream match" with Nakamura at WrestleMania.

Soon after his Fastlane loss Cena said that he would instead be attending WrestleMania as a fan, before once again playing to the crowd and challenging Undertaker to a match one last time.

On this week's episode of RAW, Cena was expecting an answer from Taker, however, he instead received a Chokeslam from Kane (Undertaker's brother).

It should be interesting to see when WWE makes the match between Cena and Undertaker official. WWE's COO Triple H was recently interviewed by The Express to get his thoughts on the matter.

"The Game" said he doesn't know if the match will happen or not, but believes The Undertaker has earned his right to pick his shots and dictate when he will and won't wrestle anymore (quotes via 411Mania):

“You’ve seen John Cena calling him out, you’ve seen that play out on television. Where that goes I’m not sure, where that goes beyond April 8 I don’t know.

"It’s kind of a one-day-at-a-time thing and time will tell and we’ll see.

"It really comes down to being up to The Undertaker, what he wants to do anywhere any time and he’s earned that right certainly with everything that he has accomplished and everything he’s done.

"He’s earned the right to pick his shots, pick his opportunity and really dictate what he wants to do.”
