Few people doubt Paul Pogba's technical quality, but for one reason or another, things haven't been going too well for the Manchester United playmaker lately.

He's either been substituted off or on the bench several times over the past few weeks, with manager Jose Mourinho preferring Scott McTominay and Marouane Fellaini.

Pogba began the 2017-18 campaign in fine form before suffering a hamstring injury and has registered three goals and ten assists in 27 matches so far this season.

However, lengthy debate over his best position and a reported bust-up with Mourinho have led to questions about Pogba's long-term future, with United set to splash the cash again this summer.

Pogba is currently away with France on international duty, but it's now been revealed what Man Utd's senior players have been telling the midfielder to do - and stop doing.

Pogba's international break

The 25-year-old was dropped to the bench in France's 3-2 friendly loss at home to Colombia on Friday as Didier Deschamps opted for Juventus' industrious Blaise Matuidi.

Pogba replaced him in the 65th-minute, but the fact he's now no longer a guaranteed starter for either club or country is something few would have predicted back in August.

Pogba at Man Utd

Mourinho may be losing patience with Pogba, and that feeling seems to have spread to some Man Utd players after The Mirror's latest report on the Premier League giants.

The Red Devils have undergone lots of transitions in recent years but they still have a core group of senior pros who all played under the legendary Sir Alex Ferguson.

What Man Utd players are telling Pogba to stop

These include David de Gea, Antonio Valencia, Chris Smalling, Phil Jones, Ashley Young and captain Michael Carrick, with the club's last league title coming in 2012-13.

The Mirror claim that United's experienced men are disappointed with how Pogba conducts himself and have told him to focus less on his image, more on his football, and to "rein in his social media activity".

Man Utd's senior players want the talented Frenchman to "concentrate on delivering the high-level performances they know he is capable of".

Image vs football

Just earlier this week, Pogba unveiled yet another new haircut at the French training camp, which was jokingly mocked by compatriot and Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud.

The United star will be hoping to feature when France play World Cup hosts Russia on Tuesday and rediscover his best form as Mourinho's men host Swansea City this Saturday.
