Charlton are set to offer a new contract to goalkeeper Darren Randolph - five months after telling him he could leave The Valley.

The 23-year-old Academy graduate was unable to break into the first team until regular number one Rob Elliot suffered an injury in March. Randolph went on to play the final 11 games of the season and his form has convinced manager Phil Parkinson to hand him a new deal.

"We will be offering a contract to Darren," Parkinson told the South London Press.

"It's been a good turnaround for him and he's done very well.

"If he signs for us then he'll be competing with Rob for the number one shirt. I've told them both to go away this summer and come back ready for a battle."
