Whitaker aiming for double figures

Published Add your comment

Chesterfield new-boy Danny Whitaker has set himself a target of 10 goals for next season.

The midfielder, who played under Spireites boss John Sheridan at Oldham, recently signed a two-year deal with the League Two club following his release by the Latics.

Whitaker told the club's official website: "I like to get around the field and play football and I hope I can bring some goals from midfield both from long range and tap ins."

He added: "I would like to get at least 10 goals next season, but right now I am looking ahead to the new challenge of playing in a new stadium every other week and being up there challenging for promotion."
