Before WWE fans were talking about Daniel Bryan’s highly anticipated in-ring return at WrestleMania 34, all of the talk was revolving around Brock Lesnar and his future in the company.

It had been well-documented that The Beast Incarnate could be on his way out of WWE. This is why the assumption has rightfully been that Roman Reigns will leave the Superdome as the new Universal Champion on April 8.

WRESTLEMANIA

While it had been speculated that Lesnar was on his way to the UFC once more, it was also claimed that he might simply be using the organisation as leverage to get an even better deal with WWE - something he did several years ago ahead of WrestleMania 31 where he ended up staying with Vince McMahon’s organisation.

It’s being claimed that WWE is advancing towards WrestleMania under the impression that the reigning Universal Champion will be leaving. So, what happens with Paul Heyman?

Lesnar’s advocate is still under a WWE contract and it’s thought that he won’t be going anywhere, especially since he’s such a valued and experienced figure to keep around.

If Lesnar is to leave, then it leaves Heyman without an on-screen role. The Wrap recently revealed that Heyman is going to host and co-produce a new show of his own, which isn’t a WWE project. However, it’s not expected to coincide with any work he does with the WWE.

With Ringside News now picking up the news, the source has claimed that Heyman could continue the same role he is currently playing with a current Monday Night RAW superstar.

Despite the two being at odds ever since they first came face to face in the lead-up to WrestleMania 31, the source is claiming that Heyman could end up siding with The Big Dog, especially since he’s expected to dethrone his current client to become the new Universal Champion.

PAUL HEYMAN GUY

While it seems unlikely on the surface, Heyman has switched back and forth between his clients before, so it wouldn’t be too far-fetched of an idea. For example, Heyman has already ditched Lesnar once to align himself with The Big Show when he became the WWE Champion, while he linked up with Lesnar by tossing CM Punk to the side.

However, it could work as a method to get Reigns cheered at last, as fans simply can’t help but cheer for Heyman and his genius promo work, even if he does portray a villain on television.

If Lesnar is to make an exit, then Reigns will surely be a popular option. He’s already a proven star and working with Heyman will only make him that much better. We’ve seen that not everyone floats when they become a Paul Heyman guy, such as Ryback and Curtis Axel, so it could be a better decision to have a genuine main event star take that spot instead.
