Lions defender set for surgery

Millwall defender Tony Craig is set to undergo surgery on his foot on Monday.

The 25-year-old suffered broken metatarsals during last weekend's League One play-off final against Swindon, which saw the Lions promoted to the Championship.

Club physio Bobby Bacic told the club's official website: "Tony has elected to undergo surgery on the broken metatarsals in his foot sustained in the play-off final."

He added: "We had a meeting with the surgeon who outlined the options which also included allowing the bones to heal naturally.

"However, this option means slower recovery time whereas the operation, in which the bones are pinned together, allows for an accelerated recovery as the bones have the additional support from the metal pins."
