Morecambe have allowed goalkeeper Scott Davies to leave after six years at the club.

The 23-year old made only one appearance last term and will now seek first-team football elsewhere.

Boss Sammy McIlroy told the club website: "Scott has been a great lad to work with over the years but with Barry Roche signing for two years again he is only likely to be on the bench for long periods and he deserves better than that."

He added: "He is a great young goalkeeper and he is at a stage in career where he should be playing week in week out. I wish him well for his career and I am sure he will be successful."
