Patterson completes Pilgrims switch

Published Add your comment

Plymouth have signed Rory Patterson for an undisclosed fee from Glentoran.

The Northern Ireland international impressed with Coleraine last season, netting 41 goals, and was offered a pre-contract by Glentoran, but the 25-year-old has since opted to join the Pilgrims on a two-year deal.

Head coach Paul Mariner told the club's official website: "Rory trained with us for three days in March and he just kept finding the net, whether it was right-foot, left-foot or his head.

"You don't often find modern players who can do that and, although he needs to work hard to reach the required standard, he has the hunger and ability to succeed."
