Rotherham boss Ronnie Moore is hoping to complete the signing of Marcus Marshall this week.

The 20-year-old joined the Millers on loan from Blackburn in January and, after becoming a free agent, now looks set to complete a permanent move to the Don Valley Stadium.

Moore told BBC Radio Sheffield: "Marshall will be done by Thursday this week, he'll be staying here permanently."

The Millers are also hopeful of agreeing terms with two other players, thought to be a defender and a midfielder, but Moore is keeping the identity of his targets close to his chest.

He added: "If anybody listens to this and jumps in then they'll say, 'why's he been on the radio telling everybody what he's doing?'. When it's done everybody will know."

Elsewhere, Rotherham have added a friendly against Alfreton (July 27) to their pre-season schedule. The match comes three days after the home friendly against Yorkshire rivals Sheffield United.
