Southampton have completed their first signing of the summer with the capture of Brentford's Ryan Dickson.
The left-back, out-of-contract at the Bees this summer, has agreed a three-year deal and will officially join up with his new team-mates on July 1.
Saints will have to pay a fee for the 23-year-old, who started his career at Plymouth before moving to Griffin Park in 2008, but this is likely to be set by a tribunal even though both club's valuation of the player were similar.
Dickson told the club's official website: "Being from the south I know all about Southampton and know that it's a great club. You can tell that it has been through its dark days and that things are really turning around now for the better."
He added: "The chairman and the manager didn't have to sell it to me too hard. There were Championship clubs interested in me, but I can see the potential here, even though we are a division below.
"I want to play at the highest level and I know that this is the quickest way for me to able to do that."
