Eight days after missing out on the chance to become Premier League champions by beating Manchester United, Manchester City are now title winners.Instead of beating their rivals in front of their own fans to win the league, they were crowned champions by the virtue that United lost to West Brom at Old Trafford on Sunday. It probably wasn’t the perfect way to seal glory, but City won’t care too much. It’s their third title in seven years and they’re already heavy favourites to retain their crown next season. But United’s loss to bottom-placed West Brom probably caught out the club and the players. There wasn’t a Jamie Vardy-style themed party. Instead, some players had even left the country after being given a couple of days off by Guardiola. While the players were caught out by United’s surprise loss, one company were more than ready for it.

ETISALAT'S TITLE-WINNING VIDEO WAS...JUST TERRIBLE

Etisalat - the UAE’s leading telecommunications operator - posted an official title winning video shortly after United's loss.

But to say it’s tragic would be an understatement.

In the tune of ‘If you’re happy and you know it(!?)’ Man City’s official partner produced a video featuring City players and fans celebrating their title win.

It’s just so so bad and has been getting a lot of hate on social media.

While Pep Guardiola was busy playing golf and claimed he wasn’t going to watch United’s match against West Brom, Vincent Kompany was seen watching - and celebrating - the Baggies’ win.

And after the final whistle, the captain declared that this third title was for the fans.

“As much as this has been a record-breaking season, this one’s for you, the fans, this is why we do it!” Kompany said.

“Come on City! Champions! I’m buzzing, over the moon, so happy and proud to be able to share this with all of our fans, everybody who’s been there to support us especially in this last week as many know it’s been very difficult but at the same time we’ve bounced back, we’re champions now and thank you to all of you, It’s an incredible season.

“Yeah, its special, I’m privileged to be part of such a great group, great players, good guys, good mentality, good atmosphere in the team, every single time I’m on the pitch I enjoy it.

“There’s nothing better. Long may it continue and hopefully, every single Cityzen around the world parties for us tonight.”

City will now be looking to break the Premier League points record in their remaining five fixtures.

Five wins from five would give them 103 points - eclipsing Chelsea's record of 95 back in the 2004/05 season.
