Rio Ferdinand has revealed Paul Scholes is the best player he has ever played with, while former Brazil international Ronaldo is the best he has played against.

Speaking to his own #5 magazine about his Manchester United team mates, Ferdinand admitted that Scholes was one of many top players he has has the pleasure to play with during his career at Old Trafford.

Ferdinand said: “He is an unbelievable footballer, he can do anything he wants with a football, he can put it anywhere.

“He is a great player, but then you could say the same about Ryan Giggs, [Cristiano] Ronaldo, [Wayne] Rooney; so I am fortunate that I am playing with four of the better players I have ever played with.”

He then said that former Real Madrid striker Ronaldo is the best he had played against and suggested he was one of the best ever.

“Ronaldo is a fantastic footballer, the Brazilian one!” Ferdinand said, adding: “If he hadn’t had so many injuries he would be classed in the same ilk as Maradona and Pele.

“The year he had at Barcelona was ridiculous. He had his manager looking into the skies at what he was doing and that says it all really,” Ferdinand finished.
