Peterborough have agreed a fee with Shrewsbury for defender Kelvin Langmead.

The 25-year-old made 44 appearances last season and was named Shrews' players' player of the year. New Shrewsbury boss Graham Turner told Town's official website: "In a meeting with the chairman Kelvin Langmead strongly expressed a desire to move on and play at a higher level.

"I was unable to contact him but spoke to his agent who confirmed that the player wished to move on, as they were aware of interest from Peterborough United and opportunities like this didn't come round very often.

"We therefore have reluctantly agreed to allow the player to talk to the club and a fee has been agreed."
