Bournemouth captain Jason Pearce and midfielder Anton Robinson have extended their contracts with the club.

Centre-half Pearce, 22, has signed on for another three years while Robinson, a January 2009 signing from Weymouth, has penned a two-year deal with a option of an extra 12 months. Cherries manager Eddie Howe is pleased to have secured the future of two players who were instrumental figures in the team's promotion-winning 2009/10 season.

Howe told the Bournemouth Daily Echo: "Jason has been a model of consistency and was excellent for us last season. The added responsibility of captaincy has seen his game improve even more. He's an important member of the dressing room and has that desire to improve and get better, like a lot of the lads do. He's a winner and he wants to win everything he does. That's why we're delighted to have him with us."

He added: "Since Anton has come in, I think he's been outstanding. He's been consistent, he's very reliable and he is a versatile player. I know Anton will have worked hard over the summer and, hopefully, he will come back even better."
