Iron agree Grant deal

Scunthorpe general manager David Beeby has revealed that the club have agreed a fee with Accrington for striker Bobby Grant.

It was confirmed in May that Grant would join the Iron when his contract at Stanley expires at the end of this month, although the League Two club were entitled to compensation. The fee looked like it would have to be settled by a tribunal but they have now come to an understanding on an undisclosed six-figure sum which could rise to £260,000.

Beeby confirmed that this value would only be reached if additional add-ons, according to the success of Nigel Adkins' team, are met. He told the club's official website: "For that (£260,000 fee) to happen though, Bobby would have to have a very good season and we would have to be promoted to the Premier League. I think both clubs are reasonably happy with the figure that's been agreed."
