Manchester City striker Carlos Tevez is a £40 million target for Spanish giants Real Madrid, according to reports.
New Madrid manager Jose Mourinho has set his sights on a host of Premier League stars and now Tevez has apparently jumped to the top of the queue.
Real were interested in bringing the Argentine striker to the Bernabeu when it became clear he would not stay at Manchester United a year ago.
Tevez, however, was desperate to stay in the Premier League and took up the offer of a contract with the Eastlands club, signing a five-year contract.
The former West Ham United frontman had an outstanding debut season for City, scoring 23 goals in just 35 games and has once again caught the attention of Real Madrid.
Mourinho is building for a Champions league challenge next season and has already been linked with Steven Gerrard, Wayne Rooney and Frank Lampard.
It is unlikely City will want to let Tevez leave, though, as they do not need the money and are themselves building for a title challenge.
David Silva, Yaya Toure and James Milner are just three names who are set to join Jerome Boateng in the Sky Blue next season while they are actively in the market for another striker to add to their front line. Edin Dzeko and Zlatan Ibrahimovic have been heavily linked.
