Arsenal plot double Serie 'A' swoop

Arsenal are being linked with a double Serie 'A' move for Mario Balotelli and Simon Kjaer.

The Inter Milan striker and Palermo defender have both been linked with moves away from Italy, with Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger reportedly monitoring both players with a view to potential moves.

'Super Mario' is a highly-rated young striker who fell out of favour at the San Siro under Jose Mourinho. The player and manager had several run-ins during 'the special one's' time at the club, but Balotelli showed glimpses of his maverick potential when given the chance at Internazionale.

Kjaer is one of the most wanted defenders in europe, proving his ability at both club and international level for Denmark. The 21-year-old played twice at the World Cup in South Africa, but missed the final group game through suspension.

At club level, Kjaer moved to Palermo from FC Midtjylland in 2008. He immediately established himself as the top defender for the Rosanero. Manchester United, Manchester City and Barcelona have all been linked with the player in previous months.

CaughtOffside now link the north London club with a £32 million move for the pair as Wenger looks to build his squad for a title challenge next season.

Both players would continue the Frenchman's policy of bringing young talent to the Emirates, and the Gunners have money to play with in the transfer window if they want to make a move.
