Cheltenham have signed midfielder Frankie Artus and striker Wes Thomas on one-year deals.

Artus, 21, has joined from Bristol City and Thomas, 23, moves from Dagenham and Redbridge while midfielder JJ Melligan is set to complete his move back to Whaddon Road on Friday. Artus is well-known to Cheltenham fans, having spent two loan periods at the club in recent seasons. His left-footed strike against Walsall in the 2008/2009 campaign was voted Goal of the Season by fans.

"I'm delighted Frankie has agreed to join us," said manager Mark Yates. "He has a terrific left foot and can play in a number of positions which is what we need. He is a young player who is hungry to do well and I'm sure he will do well for us."

Thomas spent parts of last season on loan to Rushden and Diamonds, helping them to a play-off place in the Conference.

"Wes is a strong, quick forward player who will give us something different compared to the forward players we had last season," Yates added. "I'm certainly looking forward to working with him."
