Aldred completes Hornets move

Watford have made their second signing of the day after former Carlisle defender Tom Aldred penned a two-year contract at Vicarage Road.

The 20-year-old centre-half rejected a new deal from the Cumbrians to move down south and work with Malky Mackay.

The Hornets have made a compensation offer to Carlisle but the clubs may have to go to a tribunal to settle on a fee for Aldred`s services. Last summer a tribunal ruled that Watford should pay Carlisle £200,000 for striker Danny Graham.
